![✨Losar Message from Rinpoche✨
Losar Tashi Delek!
I would like to wish you an auspicious beginning of the Lunar New Year. There are so many wonderful messages already shared by many great teachers, that I feel like it would be redundant to be saying this… But, I guess, that is what some of us must do. Some things are worth being repeated.
Looking back at last year, we have done so many things. So much has happened to us, collectively and individually. Good things, bad things… Things that we did not think were possible. Things have shifted at such a scale that it feels like we are witnessing something irreversible, while the overwhelming steady loss of freedom and authenticity is numbing our faculties quietly. We humans, we have surprised ourselves, both in our kindness and cruelty.
Amidst all the chaos, we did manage bring some good too. Many retreats, pujas, teachings, and efforts to bring peace in this world were also accomplished. Multitudes have had aspirations to do something meritorious, such as pilgrimages or embracing
generosity, and they have managed to fulfil those. The Peace Walk of the Theravada monks alone is so inspiring and illuminating. I am quite optimistic, against my own nature. Even Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche has said recently that the future of Dharma, at least in the West, is quite bright. I was puzzled at that time, but a brief contemplation made me see his point.
Dharma must survive, no matter what. Of all the missions and causes that people choose to pick, this is what we have picked. We are convinced that this is what is going to truly benefit this world and its beings.
